The coolest night in Bengaluru just took place on May 6th, Saturday - which consisted of some freshly brewed games and happy faces gathering together at Xigma Games Studio.
The 9th Edition of Demo Day was hosted by Gamedev.in and the awesome folks at Xigma Games. This Demo Day’s After Dark edition witnessed the Game dev gang of Bengaluru joining their forces in a quest to have an epic night showcasing their shiny new games and have their well-deserved party break.
The party kicked off at around 7P.M, and after a while the whole scene was abuzz with folks from all walks of the game dev life, pumped up for a night of fun, merriment, and games.
And games there were. Demo Day 9 witnessed a slew of promising, polished adventures - from vivid pixel worlds to crime soaked streets, and everything in between.
Here were the games that were showcased that night:
Fishbowl: A super-cozy, super-charming world with a coming-of-age story to unfold, Fishbowl is a story of Twenty-one year old Alo, who has to grieve, survive and discover herself.
Tennis Champs:
With its a bedazzling world of cute NFT characters, high-stakes multiplayer tournaments, and simple swipe-based gameplay, Tennis Champs looked like to be THE tennis game you’ll want to love and play!
Metal Haven:
As an action-packed RTS experience, Metal Haven promised to be a treat for fans of strategy and StarCraft.
Mayanagari:
A much awaited title with its hype hotter than the Indian summer, Mayanagari showcased its chaotic and ruthless streets with its all-indian, all-awesome open world gameplay.
Bomb:
A whimsically joyous Bomber Man inspired affair, Bomb promises to be an action puzzle that is a BLAST to play!
Cosmic Race:
With style of the 90’s and the synth-vibe of the 80’s, Cosmic Race is a futuristic medley of pure sci-fi, action and combat. And with its Retro-style racing mechanics, fans of the genre better keep their fingers crossed!
Re-Pair:
Re-Pair is a clever action puzzler where you have to “re-pair” two lost cubes into one. With its multiple levels and head-scratching puzzles, it will surely intrigue the lovers of puzzle games.
Find the Nut:
A loveable protagonist, vibrant levels and crisp art - Find the Nut is a story of a squirrel who needs the player’s help to collect his beloved nuts.
Along with the games, a select sampler of exciting gameplay prototypes and mechanics was also showcased, making us keep our fingers crossed for seeing what they will grow into in the future.
And as the night went on, everybody joined in on the fun, showing their games and playing others’ creations, and sharing and receiving friendly feedback and lavish praises - all wholly deserved. The whole crowd of 50-something ardent game makers transformed the venue into an amalgamation of joy, good vibes, and lots of spirited discussions.
Thus, on that night of 6th May, a small corner of Bengaluru was alight with a group of like-minded game makers, united by their passion for making games and playing them, the night was theirs. For sharing their crafts, for trying out the labours of love of their peers, and for making the Indian game dev community a bit more awesome and a bit more fantastic. Gamedev.in had a blast hosting this event with Xigma games, and we hope to have some more of these celebrations of games in the coming months, for the gamers and the game makers in all of us.
See you then!
